The Lord answers your prayers. What a wonderful answer He gave me this past week. On Monday I woke up stressed out. I had a problem to deal with and I didn’t have any motivation to continue trying. Have you ever gotten into a point of despair where you desire success more than anything, but you have no idea how it will ever come? That was my situation. I hated it so I prayed before studying in the morning and asked the Lord to give me a hope to motivate myself to continue.
I began studying and after a chapter or so I felt like I should turn to the book of Mosiah, Chapter 4. I read and came across a beautiful scripture of King Benjamin teaching his people. Verse 27 says: “And see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order.” I love how it says, not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength. Sometimes I take a problem on too aggressively. Sometimes I take a bigger bite than I can chew. But as the Lord continues in this scripture, be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize. Now I found my hope to hold on to! I still have no idea where my paths will lead, nor how it will all work out. But, at least I know that one way or another if I continue and be diligent in obedience and faith then the prize will come. That is easily enough for me 🙂 I can go on now, even though I don’t know the least of what or how I should do it!
So I continue. Because Christ suffered for my pains, my concerns, my faults, my imperfections I can move forward with faith and hope, knowing that there is something waiting for me. I am so grateful for it.
